JMU ranked 6th best campus food in the nation

Nom nom

The Princeton Review just released their 2016 list of the best campus food. They picked the top 20 colleges based on food and JMU ranked sixth!

This isn’t the first time JMU’s food has gotten some publicity, back in 2013, The Princeton Review ranked our dining as #2 in the country. Princeton says, “All lists are based on student feedback from more than 136,000 students about their colleges through an 80-question survey.” With tons of places and options, it’s hard to imagine JMU not making the list.

There’s something for everyone.

P.C. Duke’s

There are eight food-court-style eating locations on campus: D-hall (located on main campus), E-hall (located on east campus), and Mrs. Greens (located in the Chandler dorm) are all all-you-can-eat, Market One (located on main campus), Top Dog (located on main campus), P.C. Dukes (located on main campus below Top Dog), the food court area in the Student Success Center, and Festival Food Court (located on east campus) as well as Subway (located in Grace Street Apartments), Chick-Fil-A (located on main campus), Corner Bistro (located in Memorial Hall), Dunkin’ Donuts (located in SSC and Top Dog), Einstein Bro.’s Bagels, Grace Street Market (located in SSC), Auntie Anne’s, Jemmy’s, Let’s Go! Local, Madison Grill,  P.O.D. Expresses (located in HHS and Showker), Smoothie Bar at UREC, and two Starbucks.

We have so many gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Allergy-Free counter at D-Hall

A big selling point for me on JMU was the substantial amount of eating options they had for dietary restrictions. Not only do they label everything that’s gluten-free and vegetarian clearly, but they also do all they can to prevent from cross-contamination when informed and are very knowledgeable with such restrictions. It’s a huge load off anyone with dietary restrictions’ minds so we can focus on our studies.

The food is always top-notch.

JMU’s dining services are far above par, in my opinion. The food is delicious and well-prepared and the staff are all usually beyond kind. I’ve heard visitors and students, alike, rave about the meals they have on campus.
