A foot of snow is going to drop on Boston this Friday

This one’s being called a ‘blockbuster blizzard for the ages’

It’s finally time to put your Canada Goose jackets and Hunter boots to the test because there’s a serious(ly awesome) blizzard coming our way.

Meteorologists are saying a huge storm is about to pummel the mid-Atlantic and the Northeast just in time for our move back to campus on Friday.

While the bullseye of the storm will most likely be the Baltimore/DMV area, cities like NYC and our beloved Boston will still get buried under a foot or so of snow.

Slate Meteorologist Eric Holthaus said: “For those of you wishing this storm away, the forecast is a sharp contrast to the late-January blizzard of 2015 that famously spared New York City at the last minute.

“This week’s storm will be a sprawling slow-mover, virtually guaranteeing heavy, multi-inch snowfall across a vast swath from Virginia to New England.

“So, my advice from October still stands: buy a snowblower.”

The same atmospheric craziness responsible for our exceptionally warm winter so far is also responsible for the huge amounts of moisture headed our way.

And with cold air coming from Canada (another reason to hate our neighbor now we all love Justin Bieber), you better believe we’ll be living in a winter wonderland.

So while Harvard students might be throwing snowballs in the Yard, the nation’s capital will shut down and real New Englanders will be sledding off their roofs.

Need a reminder? This is what it looked like last year:
