Uber cuts cost of rides by 10 PERCENT in DC

It’s all we could have hoped for in 2016

Uber is cutting January prices by 10 percent in DC, in a country-wide decrease affecting 100 cities in the US and Canada. This means you never have a reason not to go out.

In a post on their website, Uber confirmed: “seasonality affects every business, and Uber is no exception because when people hunker down at home, demand for rides drops.

“Five and a half years in, we’ve learned that the single most effective way to boost demand during the winter slump is to cut prices for riders.”

In addition to lower prices, Uber anticipates another benefit: “Higher demand means more time moving people, less time spent waiting around and more money for drivers.”

A spokesperson for Uber revealed other college towns, like Princeton, Raleigh, College Park, MD, and New Brunswick, will see similar price cuts to DC.

Last semester there were kittens, this semester there are discounts. Uber couldn’t get any better.
