‘Noles start 2-3…time to rally!

We’re still winners, and we know it

Could it get much worse after Florida State’s first four games? Our record showed that we were a subpar team at 1-3. But following a tough loss to Miami, we showed Duke who's boss. Turmoil began with Francois’ injury in the opener against Bama. Since then, however, James Blackman has matured steadily from game to game. The results haven’t been pretty but the ‘Noles have found subtle successes along the way. Last Saturday’s game against Miami may have ended with a loss, but we won't forget true freshman QB James Blackman marched down the field for a touchdown just one drive prior to Miami’s game winning drive.

As a fan base, it certainly hurt to lose to the Hurricanes for the first time since 2009. But when you consider the strides we’ve made as a team, merely competing with UM and nearly winning was a minor victory in itself. As true Seminole fans, we must stay strong and rally together for our team and for our school. If there’s anything Florida State students can do, its rally! Don’t let our three early losses push you away from what makes the ‘Noles nation so elite: our resilience. Do you think Jameis was sad going into halftime losing against Auburn in the National Championship? No, he took the moment and ran with it… and he won.

This ‘Noles team is not deprived of talent. From the almighty Derwin James to the big play receiver, Auden Tate, we are loaded with the talent to make a drastic comeback in the ACC. Just one more stop would have been the difference between a win and a loss against Miami. Running Back Cam Akers has been great of late, and that was on full display at Duke when he rushed for 115 yards. Add that to his 120 yard outing at home against Miami and the true freshmen is on a roll!

We cannot let a difficult start push us away from our die-hard ways! The other Florida schools love to see us down, what better way to rain on their parade than be PROUD members of the Seminole family. They can’t fathom our tenacity. In a month, we will faceoff against the dreaded Gators, and if we can successfully stick together…they’ll be toast! Keep your heads up and the record will trend in the right direction. No matter what our record says, only we know how close we were to bursting Miami’s dreams. Better days are ahead, ‘Noles fans. But all we can do in the meantime is rally together and stand by our beloved team.
