‘We tailgate harder than Clemson plays’
In preparation for Saturdays game, we asked students at both Florida State and Clemson how they feel about the other school. Clemson might be ranked third in football and we might be 12th, but does that really mean they’re better than us? You can decide who has more school pride.

“FSU is better than Clemson in every aspect. Our school spirit has us bleeding garnet and gold till the day we die, we have the most beautiful girls in the nation, and our tailgates go harder than Clemson plays.”

“Clemson is better because we are a family through thick and thin whether it’s through our sports teams or our academics. We always rise to the occasion when we need to no matter how dire the game is.”
Emily, FSU
“I think that we are better than Clemson because we are a strong second half team. I think that if we can hang with them in the first half we will have what it takes to win the game in the second half.”
Austin, Clemson
How do you feel about FSU?: “Before I came to Clemson, my mom raised me as a Florida Gators fan, so I’ve never been too big a fan of the seminoles.”
Why is Clemson better?: “I feel that Clemson is better than FSU because we play with more heart, have a much louder crowd, and simply have a winning formula that has worked for us the past few years. At Clemson, we are ALL IN and we’re going to bring our all to Tallahassee.”
Barron, FSU
How do you feel about Clemson?: “Clemson has so many horrible things about it that it’s hard to know where to start when talking about them but I’ll start with orange and purple. Literally this scheme is basically saying “hey we know every good color scheme like garnet and gold is taken so we just give up.”
Why is FSU better?: “20-9 is Clemson’s record against FSU basically showing we are the better school history wise. Also, the number 1 is the amount of national championships Clemson has ever won, which ironically is the same number of championships that I’ve seen Florida State win since I’ve been a student. When talking Florida State vs Clemson there is no comparison. Go Noles!”

How do you feel about FSU?: “I think FSU is a very good school with a great football program with rich tradition. I also despise the team due to the heartbreak FSU has given me over my many years of a Clemson fan.”
Why is Clemson better?: “Clemson is better because Deshaun doesn’t steal crab legs.”

How do you feel about Clemson?: “I have lots of respect for Clemson, their players, and their fans but at the end of the day FSU is #1 and that’s not changing in my heart.”
Why is FSU better?: “FSU is better than Clemson because 1) Our color combination is actually cool, orange makes me puke. 2) We’ve sent more players to the pros 3) FSU football spirit, we have more die heart fans. Even after we graduated, we bleed garnet and gold.”

How do you feel about FSU?: “I feel like FSU is just another team to beat to move Clemson forward in college football. Sure, having a chant is loud, it may instill pride in your students, and may feel powerful, but I can’t think of anything that beats being a part of the Clemson family that rallies together all the blood, sweat, and tears found in our Clemson hills to bring home a victory.”
Win or lose, we still bleed Garnet and Gold. Go Noles!
