For the last time, Hurricane Hermine is not named after Hermione Granger

It’s ‘Her-meen’ NOT ‘Her-my-oh-nee’

As you (hopefully) already know, Hurricane Hermine will hit Tallahassee tonight as a Category One storm. If the bustling about for batteries and the last package of water bottles at Publix wasn’t distracting enough, there has been much confusion in the community as to the correct name of this storm.

Hogwarts fans everywhere have been fighting the urge to refer to the storm as everyone’s favorite brainy witch: Hermione Granger.

Those who are irritated with the entire situation have turned to Twitter to express their frustrations. Some choose to correct the people who have made the mistake, while others note the missed opportunity to name the storm after one of Hogwarts’ greatest wizards.

Hardcore Potter fans aren’t about to apologize for their mistake.

Someone even called out the media.

One person chose to play it like Hermione and correct the pronunciation.

This user said there was a missed opportunity for another great name. #RIPHarambe.

Others are resorting to spells…

Whether you prefer to call the storm Hermine, Hermione or even Harambe, make sure to stay safe out there tonight and enjoy the day off from school tomorrow.
