Classes cancelled through Friday ahead of Hurricane Hermine touchdown

In other news, the professors of 11am classes have no chill

FSU Alerts just announced all classes are cancelled from 12pm today through Friday. The campus was placed under a hurricane warning around 11.45 last night.

The alert says: “On-campus housing and dining service operations are continuing throughout the storm as usual. Based on the current forecast from the National Hurricane Center, tropical storm conditions are not expected to reach our area until sometime Thursday evening.”

Tropical Storm Hermine is expected to make landfall tonight as a Category 1 hurricane, potentially making it the state’s first hurricane landfall in 11 years. This is the first hurricane warning issued for any city in Florida in four years.

Professors of 11am courses are emailing students to let them know that yes, classes are still being held until 12pm today. Sure, the campus may be shutting down and there is a state of emergency in Florida, but nothing can stop learning.

Stay safe, Noles.
