Austin Harrouff in critical condition after killing Florida couple

The FSU sophomore is believed to have been under the influence of ‘the zombie drug’ Flakka

Austin Harrouff is currently in critical condition in hospital and officials are not sure if he will survive.

He was taken into theater for surgery on his hand earlier today.

Late Monday night, the FSU sophomore attacked and killed a south Florida couple, John Stevens and Michelle Mischon.

When authorities arrived, it took three deputies and a police dog to pry Harrouff off of his male victim, whose face he was eating. He was eventually detained and in his incoherent state, Harrouff told authorities his name was Austin Moore.

Though the motive of the attack is still unknown, Harrouff is believed to have been on Flakka, also know as the “zombie drug”, but with the lack of a raised body temperature, officials can not conclude this was the case. Flakka is made from some of the same substances used to create bath salts, and the affect on users is similar.

The neighbor who called 911 after hearing commotion across the street has been identified as Jeff Fisher, whom we also know was stabbed up to four times in the attack.

The autopsy of his second victim is expected to be completed today.
