A robbery has occurred near the north side of campus

The crime took place by the Subway on Tennessee Street

A robbery occurred on the north side of campus this morning.

Students were warned by an FSU alert sent out via email and text message, telling students that the suspect may be armed.

He is a clean-shaven Hispanic male under the age of 30, wearing blue jeans and a yellow shirt.

The suspect is now believed to have fled campus.

Aaron, a freshman Biochemistry major, was at SC and saw the commotion of the event.

He said: “I didn’t see any gun or anything. I just took off.”

Caitlin Peshek a junior Public Relations major was passing out Jimmy samples by Market Wednesday when she received the FSU alert. “I got the text when I was legit walking by the area where it happened. But I didn’t see or hear anything the whole time.”

The Tab saw a lone security guard patrolling Stroz after the crime took place. “A guy in a suit with a badge and a walkie talkie was walking rather swiftly through Stroz. He went through a door way and then disappeared.”

The Tab tried to reach out to the Public Safety office but they had no further comment at the time.
