UF student in critical condition after motorcycle crash in front of Shands

An emergency room doctor was there when it happened and gave aid until emergency staff arrived to help

UF student Joe Steven Vincent Wagner is in critical condition after being involved in an accident outside of UF Health Shands Hospital on Monday at approximately 11:45am.

The 23-year-old was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle east on Archer road when he collided with Glory Edith Jackson, 71, who was driving a Buick sedan. Jackson was driving west and took a left onto Newell Drive where the collision then occurred.

Wagner had no helmet on when he crashed right outside of UF Health Shands Hospital. An emergency room doctor was there when it happened and gave aid until emergency staff arrived to help.

GDP is still investigating which driver had the right of way, however they said that speed did not seem like part of the cause.
