Are you ready for the River City Showdown?

Prepare for the largest cocktail fiesta of the year

Despite the efforts of officials trying to change the name, The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will be stopping in Jacksonville this Saturday, October 29.

If you live in Florida or Georgia, this day is probably pretty synonymous to Christmas for you. This game is always huge due to the intense rivalry, but this year it is vital for Florida to win.

The Gators are still a contender to win the SEC East after their bitter loss to Tennessee, but losing to Georgia would help Tennessee or even Kentucky head to the SEC Championship in December. Florida is 5-1 and first in the SEC East right now. The Gators hold the best SEC East conference record of 3-1. Tennessee’s conference record is 2-2 after losing to Alabama and Texas A&M, but a win at South Carolina this week and a Gator loss would have Florida tied again for the first spot.

Luckily for the Gators, the Dawgs usually bring out some of Florida’s best and most passionate football.

The Gators have won 14 out of the last 20 meetings. Georgia’s offensive line has struggled all season, hindering their rushing game massively. Meanwhile, the Gators defense remains one of the most solid in the nation and will be playing against rookie QB Jacob Eason. Florida’s key will be figuring out a way to make their red zone drives result in points on the board on Saturday, which has been an ongoing problem.

Florida vs. Georgia kicks off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and will air on CBS.
