Clown ‘sightings’ reported on UF campus

A photo of a clown with the UF Snapchat filter on it has been circulating

Last night “sightings” of a clown were reported on campus. Though the first sighting was near Georgetown Apartments, rumors of a second incident on Sorority Row spread among UF students last night.

A photo of a clown with the UF Snapchat filter on it has been circulating, although its validity cannot be confirmed.

The Tab UF spoke with the University of Florida Police Department to follow up.

No arrests have been confirmed. Although no calls have been made regarding a sighting, officers were patrolling the area where the clown was reported.

Sightings of clowns have been reported across the campuses including Syracuse University, University of Delaware, UMass Amherst, and University of Illinois.

As of right now, UFPD has said that students have no reason to be concerned about their safety regarding the clown rumors.
