EXCLUSIVE: Someone wrote ‘death to all fags’ on a wall in East House
The graffiti was directed specifically towards a resident
Duke authorities were alerted this morning to graffiti scrawled on the wall of East House reading “Death to all fags,” specifically targeting a freshman. Jack Donahue saw “Death to all fags @ Jack” written on the wall of his dorm in the early hours of this morning.
Jack told The Tab: “It was directed at me specifically but I tried to make it a learning experience and a wake-up call for the campus. I’ve received great support from everyone. “I feel as though people at Duke intellectualize these issues and make them very academic and like to treat them as if they have no stake on our campus, but they do. “So hopefully this can be a wake up call and learning experience and make people realize that these things are alive and well and no one at any school is above them.” The graffiti has already been painted over. This comes less than two weeks after the defacement of a “Black Lives Matter” poster, where someone crossed out “Black”, replaced it with “White” and added: “No n*****s.”
