Dartmouth alum Rex Woodbury ran the NYC Half Marathon in a suit

And broke the world record for it

After years of breaking down barriers for the LGBT community, Dartmouth alum, social activist, and long-time baller Rex Woodbury has dismantled another social stigma: that marathons are a (sacred) contest that ought to be between spandex-sporting men and women.

As other contestants in the NYC Half Marathon were squeezing into their fancy stretchy-pants and trying to beat their own personal records, Woodbury was suiting-up for his first ever half-marathon where he went to break the world record for fastest half marathon completed in the formal attire.

Along with smashing the half marathon record, Woodbury should definitely be considered for a few other awards. Namely most-hireable looking marathon participant and world’s most photogenic man (is he even sweating?)

Dartmouth ’15 Rex said: “I liked this [record] because it’s almost tailor made for me—no pun intended—in that business and finance is something I’m really passionate about and a big part of my life.”
