Petition to have John Oliver for Dartmouth’s 2016 Commencement speaker

Never has an issue been closer to my heart

With past distinguished commencement speakers such as author and New York Times columnist, David Brooks and comedian Conan O’Brien, Dartmouth faces a huge challenge in topping their past choices.

Luckily, the Class of 2016 has stepped up to introduce a petition to get John Oliver to give Dartmouth’s commencement speech.

The petition reads:

“For this year’s commencement, the Class of 2016 hopes to hear from someone whose body of work has been a major influence on the academic, social, and political psyche of millennials around the world. Our recommendation is John Oliver, the English comedian, political commentator, and television host. From his early days of working on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Oliver has cultivated a following by fearlessly confronting many of the most pressing domestic and international issues with a balance of humor and practicality.”

I would encourage all of our readers to sign the petition. Let’s get John Oliver to serve as the 2016 commencement speaker!
