One person injured in early morning shooting near campus

The victim is not a CU-Boulder student

Boulder Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person near CU-Boulder’s campus. The incident occurred on University Hill in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at Pleasant Street and Broadway just after 1am. Ahead of the shots, there appeared to be a confrontation in the parking lot of Owsley’s Golden Road bar.

An emergency alert was sent to all students at 2:12am: “Shots fired near campus at Pleasant & Broadway. Take protective action. Emergency personnel responding. Stay away.”

At 3:22am, police sent another alert indicating that one person had been injured in the shooting but there was no longer a threat. The suspect’s whereabouts were unclear.

The victim was transported to Boulder Community Health’s Foothills Hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He is not a Boulder student.
