How to de-stress during finals week

Breathe. We’re in the home stretch

Finals are the ultimate obstacle course of college. You’re running a race and now you’ve hit that final bend— you’re almost there, but it will take every ounce of motivation to get you through it. Coming back from Thanksgiving Break to get through the last week of classes, only to move on to spending hours on end every day in the library takes a toll on us all.

But relax. We’re in the homestretch. Finals week will be over faster than you think. Here are some ways to de-stress and get through the worst week of the semester without having a mental breakdown.

Nap

Finals week is the perfect time to master the art of the 20 minute nap. Your bed, friend’s bed, even the couch in the library.

Just don’t forget to set your alarm.

Eat

You do you and get that second dinner…or third. Free food in the library? Always a yes.

Calories don’t actually count during finals week.

Gym

That being said…the gym can also be a way to de-stress during finals. Might as well start burning off those 15 pounds you gained this semester.

Netflix

Time to catch up on that season of the show you started watching over Thanksgiving break…or two…or three…

Don’t be distracted by others studying around you

Laundry

Hey, catching up on the laundry you haven’t done for weeks is a great way to take a study break.

Bake

Never too early to start baking Christmas cookies.

Hug a friend

You can never have too many hugs, it is finals after all.
