Fundraiser for Columbia student hit by car raises $206,000 in just two days

The fundraiser is helping to cover medical and legal bills

A GoFundMe campaign was created June 10th to help cover the medical and legal bills that have fallen on the family of a Columbia freshman that was hit by a car last week and left in critical condition. In two days, the campaign has raised $206,946 of its $500k goal.

According to coverage by NBC New York, the student was crossing the street near Riverside Drive and West 115th Street around 12:30 a.m on Monday June 5th.

A 23-year-old man, Brayard Arno, was arrested for leaving the scene of the accident after turning himself in.
