Donald Trump once said PrezBo was a ‘total moron’

‘Bollinger is terrible!’

Donald Trump is famous for his cutting remarks on people. He has called Obama “perhaps the worst president in the history of the US”. He has also commented on certain Columbia personalities as well, such as Justice Ginsburg whom he deemed “an incompetent judge” and suggested she should resign.

But did you know he lashed out at our own President Bollinger?

For context: a few years ago, Columbia University considered buying land near the Lincoln Center from Donald Trump. However, PrezBo decided that it was wiser to buy property near Columbia’s existing campus.

In a letter to Columbia’s Eye magazine, Trump wrote: “Bollinger is terrible!”

And in a phone interview with The Wall Street Journal, he also described PrezBo as a “total moron.”

An extract from the letter reads:

“The new President of Columbia, Lee Bollinger, who came in from the University of Michigan, didn’t like the [Lincoln Center land] idea. Instead, he wanted to build Columbia’s new buildings in a lousy location on land which, in certain instances, he did not even own. Once the project was announced, it became virtually impossible to acquire the holdings because everybody wanted top dollar. He actually announced his project before buying the land—dummy!”

Yes, President Bollinger is now third-highest paid private university president. He is also responsible to the Manhattanville project aka a titanic project of expansion and gentrification of Columbia’s graduate school program in Harlem. Meanwhile, Columbia undergraduate students live in minuscule un-air-conditioned shoe-box rooms, with filthy shared bathrooms in exchange for measly 9k a year and need an urgent reform and renovation of our Core Curriculum.

Nevertheless calling PrezBo a “total moron” is not a surprise coming from a 70-year-old man who reacts to like a capricious five-year-old child who has to settle for an apple instead of ice cream.

Trump insulted the president of one of the United States most prestigious universities on the mere basis that PrezBo didn’t agree to buy his land. Sad!

And for that, I am forever grateful to PrezBo. Who’s the moron now, huh?
