BU is in the top 100 universities in the world

You’ll never guess how hard Boston College fell

It’s time to brag to your parents — BU is number 81 in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings.

This year, BU also received the 5 Stars for Excellence rating, for things like research, facilities and innovation. Aren’t we amazing?

BU has consistently raised their standing each year, from 91 in the 2016 list to 89 in 2017. Unfortunately, the same doesn’t go for our dear friends over at the outhouse on the hill. Boston College didn’t make it in the top 100. They didn’t even make it in the top 200 or 300. They were ranked all the way back at 339. Ouch.

Remember that time we beat BC? Wait, that’s right. We beat them every regular season game

And for those BC pigeons who are a little hurt over their ranking and think it’s a bunch of bird crap, here’s how QS rankings work. For their world university ranking, QS factors in academic and employer reputations, faculty to student ratio, citations per faculty, and international faculty and student ratios. They additionally base their scores on the expert opinions of 75,015 academics and 40,455 employers, also analyzing institutional research impact. It’s known as the definitive guide of global university rankings.

I guess hockey isn’t the only thing we beat BC at.
