Super fast food: the Big Mac ATM is here

Bring on the carbs!

Starting Tuesday, Jan 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kenmore Square, you’ll be able to enjoy America’s most iconic burger, but with a twist: it will come straight from a ATM.

According to Boston Herald, McDonald’s will be placing a Big Mac ATM on the Huntington Bridge between Copley Mall and the Prudential Center. McDonald’s has created every introvert’s carb craving dream. There’s no need for human interaction; you’ll get your burger from a vending machine.

Local McDonald’s owner and operator, Vincent Spadea, assures that “fresh Macs will be constantly loaded into the machine… for an experience as tasty as in the restaurant.”

This revolutionary measure is part of a promotional campaign for the fast-food chain’s two new Big Macs, the Mac Jr. (with a single patty) and the Grand Mac (with larger buns and two larger beef patties). The regular size Big Mac will also be available.

It is unknown if the Big Mac ATM system will become permanent, but some Boston University students are concerned about the freshness of the products, and would rather have quality burgers than convenient ones.

“I think it’s good in theory, like the sprinkles ATMs in LA,”said Abby Gallager, COM’18, “but disgusting in reality. Kenmore is unsanitary.”

“Out of all burgers… they had to go with the Big Mac,” said Elliot Gordon, COM’19. “Burgers need to be eaten fresh, and I don’t think an ATM will hold fresh burgers. I’ll try it out when it is out there, but I don’t think it’ll be good.”

Other students are also bothered by the cut in jobs the ATM will imply.

“The future is here. Machines are officially taking over people’s jobs,” said Claudia Quadrino, COM’19.

For those interested, coupons will also be distributed on the Huntington Bridge.
