BU notifies students of ‘shooting incident’ near campus
The shooter fled from the scene
BU has activated their campus wide Emergency Response Plan after a shooting on the corner of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Massachusetts Avenue.
At around 2 p.m. the BU Emergency Alert Service sent out emails and texts informing students about the incident. Students should avoid the area until further notice.
The “shooting incident” ended in the shooter fleeing the scene in a direction away from campus.
Since the Emergency Response Plan has been issued, no further action is required at this time.
An update was released at 2:30 p.m. by the BU’s Emergency Alert Service, telling students the suspect has fled the area and that there is heavy police presence at the crime scene.
Students are also asked to avoid the area until further notice.
