Your honest packing guide for BU
A fan for when they crank up the heat in winter
Packing for college can be both exciting and sad, but don’t stress about it too much, you’re just a couple weeks away from your freshman year at Boston University.
Here’s a quick list to help you transition to a Terrier.
A small drying rack. It will become your BFF when your clothes are tight and the dryer only makes things worst. Definitely, invest in one.
A portable coffee mug. For those mornings on the go.
A water bottle. This will help you survive your first hangover… and tenth and twentieth.
Plates, cups and real utensils. It’s hard eating a full pint of ice cream with a plastic spoon.
A nice foam mattress. BU mattresses are not the best (it’s college). You will need a good night sleep, especially after your first all-nighter, so splurge a little.
A mini fridge. Get in touch with your future roomie ASAP so you’re on the same page about who will bring or rent it.
Shower shoes. Seriously, don’t forget these! And please don’t even try showering without them. Ever.
Your favorite stuffed animal. It will be your shoulder to cry on when you get homesick
Christmas lights. They are great decorations.
A nice blazer. BU organizes lots of great networking events, and your cool summer internship might be around the corner.
Food containers. So you can take some Lucky Charms from the dining hall and sneak them to Mugar.
A shower caddy for your beauty and shower products. Space is limited and organization is everything.
A fan. Or maybe two. There’s no A/C in freshman dorms and they pump the head in the winter.
An extra blanket. Cuddle with bae for some Netlix and chill.
A nice big jacket. Boston gets really, really cold.
Comfy shoes. BU has a large campus so you’ll definitely be doing a lot of walking.
A white board for your door. You never know how shy your secret admirer can be
There are lots of great stores around campus to buy last minute stuff. Also, BU organizations plan lots of cool activities during orientation and gives away some useful gifts. Don’t miss it, It’s so great to BU!
