Brown just announced a raise of tuition prices and your wallet won’t be happy

This won’t be the last time

Chances are you’re aware of how expensive it is to attend Brown. The $64,566 fee that students are expected to pay this year is already more than most people can afford. And it’s about to get worse.

President Paxson sent out an email yesterday summarizing the most recent corporation meeting, which focused on topics like the diversity action plan, plans for expansion of the university and the new Wintersession.

Sandwiched in the middle of the email, between updates on the new performing arts center and the university’s policy on receiving gifts and donations, lies the crucial announcement. Brown will raise tuition by 4.4% to an estimated $67,439 student fee.

Although 4.4% doesn’t sound like much, it’s still a significant increase in the price of tuition. And considering the recent trend, this increase isn’t about to stop.
