Boston College alum remembers running the 2013 Boston Marathon
‘I was about half way down the block when I heard the first explosion’
Alumna Carolyn Griesser (MCAS ’15) ran the 2013 Boston Marathon for the Campus School, after training for months with her roommate.
Her sister, also a Boston College alumna, ran beside her for the last five miles from Heartbreak Hill. Waiting at the finish line with yellow balloons was their mother.
Carolyn finished the marathon at 2:47 pm, moments before the bombs went off. This is her story.
Today, we remember and honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
