There’s an amazing new promo video about BC and it’s called ‘Resilience’

The theme of resilience really relates to the BC motto, ‘Ever to Excel’

Yesterday, Boston College released its latest “Ever to Excel” video, by creator and producer Sean Casey.

Titled “Resilience,” the video illustrates the daily struggles and ultimate successes of four BC students: Cameron Granger, Alexa Pulli, Chris Peng, and Beth Bearce.

Cameron, a senior Finance and Philosophy major, was honored to be featured in Casey’s production.

The video shows him in the process of writing an honors thesis paper. Hours spent in Bapst, scratched ideas, writers block – the video captures it all.

Despite his setbacks, Cameron carries out the theme of resilience, and the video concludes with him sliding the finished product into Professor Piatelli’s mailbox.

He said: “I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to represent Boston College, the school that continuously inspires me to excel in various aspects of my life including academics, friendships, and faith.”

Alexa, a Psychology BS major and Medical Humanities minor, agreed. The video follows the senior’s experience on the Dance Organization of Boston College, facing a setback due to an injury.

She said: “It’s an honor to be chosen to play such a role. I think the theme of resilience really relates to the BC motto, ‘Ever to Excel.’

“As a college student, everything in your life is crazy, everything is moving at the speed of light, everything doesn’t go as planned.

“Even when things go wrong, if you continue to try and work through it, you can hopefully succeed in the future. That is something everyone can relate to, whether at BC or outside of the community.”

Cameron added: “Sean was awesome. You can tell after only speaking with him for a couple minutes that he is very passionate about his work.

“He has a gift of being able to verbally articulate his ideas of a project before he has even started.”

Alexa added: “When I met with Sean, he already had everything planned out and the whole story line.

“He came to so many rehearsals – Sean said he took about 1,500 shots but only used 100 of them.

“Sean really made the whole thing to come to life. He’s really just amazing.”
