Club Women’s Soccer gets bid for nationals in Phoenix

They’re gonna kick it and kill it

Earlier this week, Boston College Women’s Club Soccer team clenched a bid for nationals in Phoenix, Arizona later this month.

Dani de Torres, a Junior player on WCS couldn’t believe it.

“It was amazing,” she said, “We qualified and competed 2 years ago, but missed qualifying in a close game at Regionals last year.

“So, it’s a first for all of the underclassmen, and everyone is super excited.”

Marina Padovani, a senior on the team was equally as excited. She said: “We are such a tight-knit group of girls, constantly bringing positive and contagious energy.

“The season has had a lot of ups and downs and we continued to persevere and rally around each other through it all, but never seemed to come out on top.

“It seems like it was all just meant to be since it’s finally coming together when it matters the most!”

There are 24 girls on the squad in total, with two juniors abroad this season. The team is led by captains Kelly Cook, Charlotte (Coco) Brutten, Christina Frieberger and Suzy Gallivan.

Marina added the BCWCS squad is “determined, supportive, and loving.”

Dani said: “It was a building year for us, but each player is so talented and I’m proud of how we’ve come together over the season.

“Our record is 4-4-2,” reported Dani. “There’s been so much hard work and heart put into this season, and we cannot wait for this opportunity to play together and for each other one last time.”
