A guide to the perfect girls’ night out in Auburn

‘LET’S GO GNO!’ ~ Miley Cyrus

There is nothing better than going out with all your girls and Auburn is one of the best places to do it. We are known for having great bars, great food, and great times. This means that Auburn is the best place for a girls’ night out. If you’re new to the whole ‘GNO’ thing this guide will get you ready to have a great night with your girlies!

Getting ready

So you have all decided that you want to go out. One of the best parts of a girls’ night out is getting ready. To girls, getting ready for a night out is half the fun and if you do it all together, it’s a special kind of fellowship. It’s a great bonus if you have an artsy friend to give you all makeovers.

While you’re getting ready, be sure to have music on that gets you all pumped for the night. Every friend group usually has the one girl who always has the best Spotify playlists. She is in charge. Make sure you have a good speaker too – because there is nothing worse than getting ready for the night without music.

A great outfit is important for a girls’ night out because there will be pictures. The most important thing about your outfit is that you are comfortable and confident. You will be doing lots of walking and dancing so make sure you won’t be pulling at your outfit or shoes all night.

Pre-game

Music was an important part of getting ready, but it is vital for your pre-game. A pre-game without music is like a pool with no water. You can sit around, but no one will really be having any fun.

You have to decide what drinks you want and how much you want to spend. Make sure you can predict how much you will get at the bars so that you don’t drink too much. There is nothing worse than passing out at the pregame and not even making it to the bars.

The bars

Got to specials. Try to get to the bars that have very cheap drinks. Preferably buckets if they are happening. Make sure you go to the bars that don’t have cover. Get stamps and wristbands from all the bars that you want to go to before it gets too late and they start charging cover. After that, you can go wild and go to any bar that you want. I recommend Quixote’s if you want to be a little trashy, Sky if you’re a junior or a senior, 17 if you want to chill and occasionally dance, and bourbon if you’re a freshmen. Regardless of where you go, you will have a good time if you are drinking with your girlies.

End at Sky

Regardless of what you are doing make sure you end the night at Sky. No arguments.

Make sure everyone gets home

Either co-ordinate a place for everyone to stay or make sure your friends get home. Uber is your best friend in this situation. If you don’t have room for someone to stay at your place, find somewhere safe for them to stay.

Make sure they don’t end up going home with someone they don’t want to go home with. This may seem simple, but if your friend gets too drunk and gives you the “I need saving face” SAVE HER.

According to Jamie Johnson, a senior at Auburn University, getting Tacos (or any kind of food is the most exciting way to end a girls’ night out.

Last but not least, HAVE FUN!
