If App State dorms were your best friends

We all just want to be Summit

App State dorms are pretty run of the mill, or so they seem from the outside. It takes students a little while to realize, but each dorm has its own personality, its own quirks and unique traits.

While dorm life can be a little chaotic, it’s never boring, especially at App State.

Gardner and Coltrane: The social friend

Gardner and Coltrane are aways loud and always hanging out. There are always too many people hanging around them and too much yelling. But they make it easy to make friends and always keep things interesting.

Mountaineer: The friend you never see

Mountaineer seems to have it all together. They go to class, shower, sleep, clean up after themselves. They’re the friend you met in class that you always say you’re going to hang out with but never actually see. They’re always either too far away, already ate, or can’t muster up the energy to visit and head back home. You love them a lot, but from a distance.

Newland: The secret party girl

Newland is the friend that stays quiet the first few months of friendship before inviting you to their party and surprising you with how social they are when they turn up. They look like they have it all together on the outside, but inside they could use a little help. They’re the friend that can be a little confusing but is super dependable.

Cannon: The clingy friend

Cannon is nice enough. It’s the average run of the mill friend. For a while. Then you start to realize how much work Cannon actually is. Getting them to make plans is easy enough, but after a while, it gets harder and harder to get away from them. It takes a lot of physical and mental strength to make it away from Cannon and back into the world.

Justice: The hot and cold friend

Justice is the friend you never know what you’re going to get with. Some days they are warm and inviting, welcoming you home. Other days they’re ice cold, ignoring all your attempts to get in. They’re the morning person who doesn’t know when to let you sleep, even on the weekends. You love them a lot, but can’t wait to live somewhere else.

Summit: The one that really does have it all together

Summit has it all together. Summit showers regularly and goes to the gym. We all wish we could be Summit. Summit never forgets to feed their pet fish and is almost always baking something delicious. Summit keeps its home neat and clean and stays close to the food because Summit knows what’s important in life. Summit can be social, but also likes its quiet time to study for the honors classes it’s attending.
