A 20-year-old woman was killed by a train near UA campus

Many people were walking home from the bar area after the football game on Monday

Tuscaloosa police say a Louisiana woman was struck and killed by a train while walking near the University of Alabama on Monday.

Police reported Katie Keough, 20, was walking with a group of people around midnight when they tried to beat a train near campus. Keough was hit and killed by the train.

Witnesses attempted to perform CPR on Keough, but she was later pronounced dead on the scene.

Tuscaloosa Fire Marshal Gene Holcomb said the incident occurred on the tracks at 10th Avenue and 14th Street.

Keough was visiting from Baton Rouge, LA. Police are reporting many people were walking from the bar area of Tuscaloosa after the National Championship football game.
