‘I didn’t actually urinate on the statue,’ says UT student who tweeted tasteless pic

He even has that New Boy look

The intense rivalry between the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee is longstanding. Ahead of the annual matchup this weekend at Neyland, #TennesseeHateWeek is well underway.

And boy, do we hate Tennessee – especially after UTK student Austin Jones tweeted a photo of himself standing with his pants down in front of the Nick Saban statue outside of Bryant–Denny, presumably to urinate on it. The caption said: “The urinals are pretty cool at Alabama.”

A screenshot of his tweet was posted in the Alabama Student Ticket Exchange Facebook group, and UA fans responded in a big way.

Trey Chaffin asked “Public indecency?” while another girl claimed she contacted UAPD.

Sarah Irene Everett wrote, “Why is his butt crack so dark? Did he not wipe?” And one imaginative student pointed out, “Looks like he’s blowing Saban.”

All the comments and tweets from UA fans led him to delete the tweet and change his Twitter account from public to private. Looks like we’ve done our civic duty.

Austin said, “I’ve already gotten so much backlash. I was only trying to continue a good friendly rivalry.” But he does want everyone to know one thing: “I didn’t actually urinate on the statue.”
