You may hate us, but Alabama is the best football team in the world

Roll Tide

Saturdays in Alabama are unlike any other. Every team around the world “Wants Bama.” We are the powerhouse of the SEC, which is honestly the powerhouse of all other conferences.

So what makes Alabama football so special? Well, there are quite a few reasons actually.

The fans

Our fans are incredibly devoted to the Tide and why wouldn’t they be? Our team has yet to disappoint us, even though we are some of their harshest critics.

Ignore the “Theta Love’s the Dawgs” sticker

We treat every game like its the hardest game of the season. We show up and stay. We squad to places like Dallas, Atlanta, Glendale, and NOLA just to support our boys in crimson—and of course the celebration after. We do all of this while screaming ROLL TIDE every chance we get.

The Traditions

Our traditions here at the Capstone are unlike any other. When you’re in the stadium and Dixieland Delight comes on over the speakers, there is nothing you can do to suppress the extra verses. When we beat the hell outta you, Rammer Jammer is chanted by every Tide fan in the stadium. Lastly, when our Million Dollar Band plays the fight song, you won’t hear a louder Roll Tide, Roll Tide anywhere in the nation.

Alabama game days

Game days are the best days. No matter what time the game is, the students—and some brave adults—are out tailgating by 9AM sharp. If it is a morning game, you best believe we’re ready to go by 7AM. Our tailgates are insane.

We love to have a grand ol’ time on the Quad where every tent is serving up their best concoctions. If you’re brave, you’ll attempt to make a Yellow Hammer, or even a Philibuster, heck while you’re at it you might as well make a Sabanade. These are the perfect recipes for a great game day.

Saban

It goes without saying that Nick Saban is the glue that holds us all together. He’s a legend. He is the best coach in college football. To prove it, he has five really shiny national championship rings in his possession. Yes, five.

Four of the last seven national championships have been won by Alabama with Saban at the helm. There is no debate, he is one of the all time greats.

The Team

Of course, we couldn’t do it without our team. These are the guys getting after it every single day. Making a name for themselves one win at a time. People love to doubt our guys, fans included, but this year they are already defying their critics.

In Jonathan Allen, we have someone who increasingly looks like one of the best players in college football right now. Jalen Hurts has already made a name for himself and quite possibly could be a very early competitor for the Heisman.  Our team is rock solid, but we’ll always have jealous haters.

Roll Tide

Nothing defines us more than our famous saying, Roll Tide. And no, if you have to ask, you don’t deserve to know what it means. It is our hello and goodbye. It is our celebration when we win and our comfort when we lose. It is so much more than just two words. When we pass each other on the way to and from the game, we give each other a big ol’ Roll Tide, no matter the outcome.

When it’s a Friday before a game, our professors end class with a Roll Tide and we give them one right back. When we did something dumb while intoxicated, our friends respond with just a simple Roll Tide—a response that means we will never speak of this again.

It is without question that the Alabama Crimson Tide is a team to be reckoned with. Do you want Bama? Roll Tide.
