Frat treasurer arrested for stealing $18,000 to buy drugs

He has been charged with theft and credit card fraud

A fraternity treasurer accused of going rogue and stealing $18,000 to buy drugs has been arrested.

Sigma Chi Treasurer Joshua Caleb Dalton, 25, has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing from his fraternity brothers at Florida Atlantic University. Cops say he was trying to fund his heroin addiction.

He was released from Palm Beach County Jail after posting a $9,000 bond.

Fraternity brothers alerted cops in Boca Raton after they claimed Dalton withdrew $18,212 and 91 cents from their funds.

Police say Dalton confessed to taking the money to support his heroin habit but said he planned to pay it back.

Dalton faces charges of grand theft between $10,000 and $20,000, fraudulent use of credit cards and fraudulently obtaining property under $20,000.
