Could Obama be Harvard’s next president?
The Boston Globe seems to think so
It was announced on Wednesday that Harvard President Drew Gilpin Faust would step down in the summer of 2018 after 11 years at the institution. According to the New York Times, the university’s first female president was responsible for expanding academic programs and increasing faculty and student diversity.
An article by the Boston Globe presented the idea that former President Barack Obama was a possibility to fill the post. President Obama graduated in 1991 from Harvard Law School and served as the first African-American editor of the renowned Harvard Law Review. His daughter, Malia, will be attending Harvard this fall.
Among the other top potential candidates are Janet Yellen (chair of the federal reserve) and Nitin Nohria (dean of Harvard Business School).
