Eleni MitzaliBabe is looking for two rising seniors to intern in our New York office for a paid 8-week period in summer 2017.
As a babe Summer Intern you will be a part of our team of editors, staff writers and video producers, writing stories and making videos as well as helping broaden our network of babe correspondents across the US.
Babe Summer Interns will represent babe's movement with stories and videos that are ballsy, innovative and that girls actually care about.
This internship is open to students graduating university in spring 2018. Applicants who are not eligible are encouraged to apply for babe's Summer Correspondent program for summer 2017.
About babe
Put simply, babe cares about big things, about real issues which affect American women aged 18-24. Our contributors are better at writing about young women’s lives than a lot of other sites because they are young women.
Since our launch in May 2016, babe has become one of the fastest growing women's sites on the internet, with an audience of over 800,000 Facebook fans and 2 million monthly readers which is growing fast.
Babe also has a large video audience and plans to keep expanding in original video. Our popular group chat series Is It Just Me? has already attracted millions of loyal followers since its launch in February 2017.
Babe will select two applicants to join our office for an 8-week period over the summer, with the first slot starting in May and the second in July. To be considered for babe's Summer Internship, applicants must:
– Be graduating university in Spring 2018
– Know and follow babe and believe in our movement
– Have a strong understanding of what babe readers care about
– Be a creative and open thinker
– Have strong organizational skills
– Take initiative
– Not give a fuck
Preference will be given to applicants who have written for The Tab and babe, but it is not a requirement.
Internship payment: $2500 a month / $577 per week.
Description of internship duties:
– Pitch and write stories for babe
– Pitch video ideas for babe and Is It Just Me? and help film and produce them
– Work with editors to broaden our network of babe correspondents across the US
– Send hundreds of messages on LinkedIn
– Work with editors to grow babe's brand and following on social media
– Post dozens of babe stories out on our channels a day
– Cover events in New York City for stories or on babe's social media platforms

Each pitch must have a bold and clever headline and 150-200 words explaining your idea, why babe readers would care about it, and what your featured image would be.
– Pitch two original video ideas for babe and one script for a group chat video for our Is It Just Me? series:
For the babe videos: Describe each idea in 100-150 words, specifically mentioning how it would be filmed, what production would be needed, and how you would find people to take part where relevant.
For the Is It Just Me? scripts: Describe your idea in 100-150 words and script a scenario with the series' characters.
– Give an example of a tweet, Instagram picture, or Facebook post you saw recently that could be a babe story and explain what your angle would be in 150-200 words.
