This Net-a-Porter photoshop screw-up is incredibly embarrassing

‘Slim here’

According to Cosmo, Net-A-Porter, a luxury online retailer, recently published a photo with the retouching notes still on it, and it confirmed all of our beliefs about the beauty industry and its unrealistic expectations.

The photo, included the words “please slim”, with an arrow to the model’s hips, as well as additional sketched in editorial guidelines:

An arrow pointing at the shoulder, perhaps for rounding or sliming, and a line drawn down the model’s left arm,  as if for sliming and shaping as well.

According to The Daily Mail, the photo remained up for a few hours before it was replaced with this:

When Cosmo reached out to them for comment, they said, “We post images that accurately represent the garments so that customers receive the product they expect.”

“This image,” they told Cosmo, “was uploaded to our product page in error and the notes refer exclusively to the garments.”

I don’t know about you all, but the original picture looks pretty great to me.
