Which college has the most Olympic medalists?

Coolest students in 2016

While the USA rightfully gloats over a victorious 121 medals earned in the Rio Olympics, universities are just as quick to claim bragging rights for medals won by students.

So the NCAA has ranked colleges by the number of medalists currently studying – or about to study – on each campus.

Californian schools dominate: Stanford comes out on top with 25 medal winners, followed by Berkeley at 17, and USC at 16. See where your college ranks below.

Bear in mind the NCAA stats discount Olympic champions who graduated a while ago, so Michael Phelps (who won a whopping six medals for Team USA), doesn’t factor into Michigan’s medalist count.

It’s worth adding these figures take into account the number of non-American Olympic medalists studying at these colleges.
