Bernie is neck and neck with Hillary for the California primary

The crucial state is up for grabs

Recent polls have shown Bernie Sanders is catching up to rival Hillary Clinton in California.

A new NBC poll has Clinton at 49 percent among likely CA voters, with Bernie just two points behind at 47 percent.

Just a few weeks ago it seemed Hillary was certain to win the state with the greatest number of delegates, but with Bernie catching up in the polls, nothing is certain anymore.

Could he do it?

One of Bernie’s biggest talking points is that he performs better with a high voter turnout, and many experts are predicting a surge for the state’s primary on Tuesday after seeing a huge spike in voter registration.

California splits their delegates proportionally, so a win for Sanders wouldn’t drastically reduce the 770 delegate gap between Hillary and himself.

However, a win would still be huge for him, as it would show that he is still a competitive candidate and is still in touch with the electorate.

Or will Hillary take the state?

It could also help gain the support of more superdelegates, something he desperately needs to beat Hillary at the convention, and would also give him a lot more momentum going into the last few primaries and into the convention in July.

California will hold their primary on Tuesday along with New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Montana.
