If you have a British accent, girls will automatically be attracted to you

Harry Potter ruined all men for us

| UPDATED

Whether it’s starting a sentence with words like “love” and “darling” or ending a text with a double kiss [xx], British guys are a woman’s drug.

The British accent is your best opening line, but even behind the way you say “Hello” there’s so much more that makes us swoon upon meeting you.

We will get with you just because you’re British

Yes we have all shamelessly been there and done that (and other things). We might not have any idea what you’re saying but we know it’s British. And we will get with you.

“I had relations with many an unattractive Brit during my time abroad, and I can guarantee none of those times would’ve happened without the accent.” – Audra Heinrichs, The Ohio State University.

“I hooked up with a 6’6 British guy over the summer only because he was British. I didn’t really have feelings for him but the whole British thing got to me so I hooked up with him.” – Shae, US college student

Not that you really have to try and impress us but for an added bonus I recommend using all the overly British words you can think of. Is something ‘bloody’ good? Tell us more about what you and your “mates” are up to. Are you a fan of our “trousers”?

Now please make out with us.

Harry Potter ruined all men for us

If we could just “wingardium leviosa” all the other guys out of our way, we would. I remember going to watch my first Harry Potter movie and leaving slightly in love. I was seven.

“British guys remind me of Harry Potter. I like to think they all went to Hogwarts.” – Jordan Gunselman, Temple University.

Thank you J.K. Rowling.

The way you text is e(xx)ellent

Yes, yes I am xx

The only thing love more than your real kisses are your text kisses. xx

You have nice hair

“I have never met a Brit with bad hair.” – Zoe Weaver, The Ohio State University.

Duh, the accent

We don’t really care what you’re talking about, but you make it sound so attractive.

“Their accent makes me swoon and they could be talking about the grossest things, but they would still be hot.” – Kerrigan Stern, University of Maryland.

Luckily for Americans we can’t really tell between accents from different parts of the UK so we don’t care if you’re from London or Scunthorpe.

“If they have a posh accent you think of them as your potential Mr. Darcy.” – Mahogany Amnizia, Syracuse University.

You care about how you look

“They put thought into what they wear and therefore have style.” – Emmanuela Mitzalis, University of Montana.

You’re exotic

To us you’re so foreign and exciting. We can listen to endless hours about your various adventures across Europe and your trips to Scotland. People might get tired of hearing about your gap year, but we won’t. Keep talking.

Is Lasham even exotic? We don’t really care

“British guys are more cultured than Americans. Also, I feel like they are more self-sufficient.” – Julie Gould, Boston University.

Plus you come off as so much more intelligent than other guys.

You call us ‘love’ and ‘darling’

Say those magic words and we’ll just fall in love with you a little bit.

You’re not American

It’s as simple as that. The grass is always greener on the other side. American girls love the fact you’re not going to be like the usual frat bro who is going to try and hit on us in the least romantic way possible.

“They’re so shy in comparison to American boys that they come off as adorable.” – Mahogany Amnizia, Syracuse University.

You also will have so much more to talk about and we are going to listen to every word of it.

“They are just foreign in general so there’s a factor of something new and exciting.” – Kaitlyn Bankey, The Ohio State University.

Sorry American guys.
