Trump campaign manager to be cleared on battery charges

The official decision will be announced tomorrow

Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski will not be prosecuted, sources claim.

Lewandowski faced charges of assault after an incident with reporter Michelle Fields, at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, last month.

The footage, which can be seen here, shows Lewandowski at the moment he was said to have assaulted Fields, although the clip is inconclusive.

The encounter between Fields and Lewandowski

On March 29 Trump tweeted: “Wow, Corey Lewandowski, my campaign manager and a very decent man, was just charged with assaulting a reporter. Look at tapes-nothing there!”

The state attorney’s decision to not press charges is expected to be announced on Thursday, according to sources reported in Politico.

Earlier today Fields tweeted: “Prosecutor’s office told me they would inform me of decisions tomorrow. If reports true, guess they decided to leak to reporters first. Ugly.”
