Uni of York logo is officially changing to have Long Boi in it

Emily SmithThe University of York is officially changing its logo to have Long Boi featured in it, The York Tab can exclusively reveal.
The new logo, which can be seen below, will be adopted for the upcoming academic year.
Vice Chancellor Charlie Jeffery said: “He is the perfect ambassador for our university.”
After going viral last year and amassing over 47,000 followers on Instagram, there’s no doubting that Long Boi is a campus *and WORLDWIDE* celebrity. Already with his own merch range, the decision to feature Long Boi on the uni logo only seems natural for our duck-obsessed uni.
The York Tab spoke to Vice-Chancellor Charlie Jeffery about the decision to change the logo. He said: “This decision has been a long time coming and I’m delighted to finally announce the new mascot and face of The University of York. The logo, although historic, has been in need of modernisation for some time now and who better to recognise this modernisation than Long Boi himself?”
He continued: “The logo still features the classic shield but now subtly features everyone’s favourite waterfowl. I hope this logo change will reflect the university’s community stance and boost morale amongst students during these times. We also hope this may encourage prospective students to choose York.”
Jamie, a third-year PPE student at York told The York Tab: “I really can’t believe this oh my god. Iconic behaviour from the uni here really isn’t it. Can’t wait to stick ‘Long Boi University’ on my CV.”
The York Tab spoke @longboiyork who said: “I’m sure Long Boi thinks it’s absolutely quackers to be the new face of the uni as he’s happy just with some extra birdseed. Nevertheless, this is such exciting news and I love the new logo!”
