York has ranked 12th in The Guardian’s new university league table

YSJ remains in 119th place

The University of York have moved up in the Guardian's University League Tables for 2019 to 12th place.

After ranking 17th last year, York has jumped 5 spots and is now between UCL in 11th and Coventry Uni in 13th.

According to the new table, 88 percent of York students are satisfied with their course, and 90 percent are satisfied with teaching.

The top of the table remains unchanged, with Cambridge, Oxford, and St Andrews occupying the first three rankings respectively.

Our Roses rivals Lancaster continue to hold 9th place and our Varsity rivals Durham have dropped from 4th to 5th, with 4th place now taken by Loughborough.

York St John remain quite a way down in 119th place.
