A man was stabbed near Student Castle last night
The investigation is ongoing after the incident on Walmgate
Haley HortonThe police confirmed that a man was stabbed in York city centre last night around midnight.
The incident took place near Student Castle, on Walmgate outside One Stop. It is a busy student area and the area has now been cordoned off for forensics to investigate.
The area remains cordoned off while investigation is underway
The man stabbed is in his 30s, and sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A representative from the North Yorkshire Police commented on the situation: "We know this will be a concerning incident for the residents. Officers will be conducting patrols in the area today to provide reassurance to the local community."
As of now, there is no information available for the public as the investigation is ongoing.
