David Attenborough is due to visit York on 23rd March to open the new Jurassic World exhibition at the Yorkshire Museum.

91-year-old Attenborough, the legendary naturalist and TV presenter, will be given questions by York school children to answer at the opening, and have the chance to meet him through a competition.

Elsie Hargate, a York Geography student, told The Tab: "This is so exciting for anyone in York – it’s David Attenborough and he’s a national treasure. For me and my friends who follow his line of work closely it’s a huge deal! We are definitely postponing our Easter break to stay in York for this event."

Those lucky enough to attend will be current York Museum Trust card holders, who will have the chance to win pairs of tickets to the opening.

The Blue Planet II presenter has said he is “delighted to be coming to York to open Yorkshire’s Jurassic World."

Well, Yorkshire is just as thrilled to be having you David.
