York plummets almost 25 places in world university rankings

But at least we still beat Lancaster eh

York is the 127th best university in the world, according to the latest rankings published today by QS.

Unfortunately this year we have fallen a staggering 24 places in the rankings in a massive fall from grace. It’s not all bad though – we’re still ranked two places above Roses lightweights Lancaster and a massive 110 places above university upstarts Loughborough.

Cambridge, Oxford and UCL are still leading the charge from UK Universities in the world rankings, holding 4th, 6th and 7th places respectively, a nearly identical performance to last year.

York scored particularly low in the following categories (out of 100):

Academic Reputation – 54.9 per cent

Employer Reputation – 54.4 per cent

Faculty-Student Ratio – 53 per cent

But we still scored relatively highly in International Faculty (89.6 per cent) and International Students (74.6 per cent).
