Why you should write for The Tab York next term
Be a part of the student media revolution
The Tab York gets tens of thousands of views every week and we’re looking for bright new writers to help us get even more.
In November, we had over 95,000 hits and were read by students all over the UK.
We write stories that people care about in a style they want to read. Just look at these recently published corkers.
Our news coverage also regularly makes it into the nationals. Remember this?
And if that isn’t enough, our socials are downright scandalous and you’ll be treated like the York celeb you’ve always yearned to be.
You don’t need experience, and you don’t even really know how to spell (just ask the editors): all you need is to want to write.
If you don’t have any ideas to start with, we’ll help get you going with some of our own, so there’s no reason not to get involved.
Heather Laws, second year Law student and Tab reporter, says: “It’s great because it gives you the opportunity to write for a proper publication which reaches thousands of people. Plus, it’s really fun.”
She was one of the really drunk ones in the first picture, so she clearly knows what she’s talking about fun.
Sammy Tempo, Economics second year and seasoned Tab journo, said: “The Tab is great because you can rant about stuff and people will read it. Plus, it could be worse – it could be Vision.”
Jack Elliott, Third year Electronics student and Co-Editor of The Tab York, says: “My time with The Tab has definitely been the highlight of my uni experience.
“The socials, the stories, the experiences and the prized Tab T-shirts make it all worthwhile. Plus the attention our articles get is really damn impressive compared to York’s other dull student media offerings.
So in the words of Gwen Stefani – what you waiting for?
