The Complete University Guide's 2019 has been released and Warwick University has ranked 9th in the UK for the coming academic year. This is lower than last year's 8th place positioning, with only UCL behind Warwick in this year's top 10.

Cambridge was ranked 1st for the eighth consecutive year, with Oxford and London School of Economics following behind to complete the top 3 UK universities.

The University of Warwick is not the only university to fall this year, with St. Andrews falling from 3rd to 5th, and UCL falling from 7th to 10th. There was also a notable rise in position for Loughborough University as they moved from 10th last year to 7th this year.

Though, there is some good news for Warwick, as the number of students achieving good honours, either a 1st or a 2:1, is increasing year on year, with over 80% of graduates achieving good honours from the Top 24 universities, aside from Lancaster University.

According to Dr. Kingston, 2019 is "the first full ranking of all 131 eligible UK universities" and believes the independent guide gives an opportunity for universities to "compare and contrast in an open and flexible way."

The CEO of Hotcourses Group, Simon Emmett, also added that these guides are "well respected by the universities" and are used by almost a million applicants monthly due to their "accuracy and stability."

Despite the decline from last year, Warwick University have secured a top 10 spot for 2019, holding it's reputation as one of the most esteemed Russel Group universities in the UK.
