Nando’s is coming to Warwick campus

It will be a part of the new Warwick Arts Centre

| UPDATED

The large-scale refurbishment of the Warwick Arts Centre, as part of the 20:20 project, will see the integration of new cinemas, auditoriums, and restaurants- including a Nando's.

The decision to introduce Nando's onto Warwick campus has come from the attempt to make the University and the Arts Centre more accessible for their student market.

The University campus, which is set to be expanding in both size with accommodation and with various building projects in the next 5 years, has recognised the need to introduce more mainstream and popular restaurants in order to keep up with demand.

Nando's has recently extended it's renowned chicken menu to cater for a more varied audience- with new vegan, vegetarian, and gluten intolerent food options. This, along with the popularity of the restaurent chain, has made Warwick University more inclined to introduce a Nando's restaurant into the new Arts Centre.

Plan for the reconstruction

The building project is aimed to modernise Warwick campus and arts facilities, in an attempt to live up to Coventry's City of Culture 2021 title. The project began in October 2017 and is set to be completed by the end of 2020, with the new Nando's restaurant opening for the first time in late 2018.

The 20:20 project totals at a staggering £17.1 million, and is set to make the Warwick Arts Centre the most environmentally sustainable building on campus, and the nation-wide hub for creative and digital arts. The introduction of a Nando's is set to extend the utility and excitement for the building project even further.
