Robbin’s Well is closing

Bar crawls will never be the same again

Robbin’s Well announced the owners will be selling the establishment, meaning it will be closing in the next few weeks.

A customer visited the bar on Friday asking to book a basement gig, only to be told the heartbreaking news that Robbin’s Well is in fact closing.

To everyone’s disappointment, this is not in fact an April Fool’s joke, despite the bar announcing the sad news on April the 1st. Robbin’s Well has been a frequently visited bar for the last several years, with many of Warwick’s societies choosing to visit it on bar crawls. Bar crawls will never be the same again.

Not only is Robbin’s Well known for being a bar, it’s also cheap. It’s had a great mix of students and locals and has been a popular place for many years.

We asked some Warwick students what they thought of the heartbreaking news. Turns out it won’t be missed as much as we thought.

Kanika Banwait, second year English Lit student, said: ‘I don’t remember much about Robbin’s Well, because every time I’ve been there I’ve been drunk, but, to be honest, I don’t think I’m going to miss it’.

Second year student, Jonas Eberhardt, also said: ‘I wasn’t aware Robin’s Well is closing up for good but I am sad to hear it is.

‘With its good drink deals and the downstairs area, it was always a solid base camp for bigger socials and bar crawls around the fine establishments of South Leamington.’
