An anonymous hero sent a skint fresher pizza over Yik Yak for free
They were offered a job earlier in the day and wanted to spread the love
Over the weekend Computer Science fresher Matt Smith posted a complaint on YikYak about not having enough money to order pizza with his flat – only for another user to send him one for free.
The anonymous hero had been offered a job earlier in the day and was in a celebratory mood so decided to help out a fellow student with the wonderful free gift.
The original poster yakked: “When the rest of your flat is ordering pizza but you can’t afford it” to which user Green Acorn replied: “So I got offered a job today. Comment your address and what toppings you like, OP.”
After a conversation discussing allergies and what toppings the fresher wanted, Green Acorn delivered on his word and ordered a Chicken Club pizza from Papa Johns as well as a garlic bread for the lucky Yakker.
A delighted Matt Smith told The Tab: “I was really skeptical about the whole thing at first – it’s hard to believe that a total stranger would be so generous.
“I honestly thought that Green Acorn was just pulling my leg, up until I actually received the pizza.
“It’s nice to see that there are people like him/her, willing to do something like this without receiving recognition and doing it purely for someone’s happiness.
“I’m going to buy a randomer a pizza now, so that I can pass on the good deed.”
Green Acorn’s deed prompted an influx of love and gratitude on YikYak, with many users wishing they had a Green Acorn of their own.
If anyone has any information as to who Green Acorn is, or if you’re even maybe reading this, Green Acorn, please email [email protected] with details as Matt wants to say thanks personally.
